The National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced a new Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Policy that applies to proposals submitted on or after January 25, 2023. The NIH DMS Policy requires all data-generating research that is funded in whole or in part by the NIH to include a written plan to manage and share that data.
In order to support the Office of VIce-President for Research, the Library is providing an informational web page to assist researchers in their development of DMS Plans. Please visit the Library's NIH Data Management and Sharing Plan web page to find out what a data management plan is, the NIH requirements, DMS examples, and more importantly, who can help with the process on campus.
Please note that the Department of Population Health Studies, Clinical Research Informatics Division is available for DMS consults. You can contact them at Data Management & Sharing consultation service or informatics@uthscsa.edu.
On display until the end of January, the works of Erum Khan greet visitors to the Briscoe Library. Oil paintings inspired by Islamic calligraphy, western art pencil sketches, and acrylic works embedded with semi-precious stones, allow viewers to experience a wide expanse of artistic and cultural influences.
On January 19th, Ms. Khan provided a demonstration and hands-on workshop for those interested in learning more about her oil painting and other art work techniques. In two hour-long sessions, participants were able to learn directly from not only a very talented and creative artist but also from a dedicated teacher.
