Briscoe Library Room Guidelines

Room 2.011

Capacity: 25

Availability: Must be reserved for classes or meetings that require hands-on computer use. Available for computer use when not reserved. 

Reservations: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Features: Projector, instructor station, videoteleconferening (VTC) equipment. Internet access, Microsoft Office and whiteboards are available. The computers are networked to a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). They do not have hard drives, so users are encouraged to bring USB data drives if they wish to save files.

Food and beverages: To protect the computers and peripherals, only covered beverages are allowed. Spills should be cleaned up immediately, or reported to Library staff.

When requesting a reservation, please indicate if the following will be needed:

  • Instructor's microphone
  • Video-teleconferencing equipment. See the Classroom Support tab. 
  • Audio-visual equipment or technical support
  • Special software
  • Dry erase markers - may be checked out at Circulation Desk

These guidelines are general and exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

The purpose of the Library's classrooms is to support the programs and mission of the University.


Library classrooms are for the use of UT Health San Antonio students, faculty, and staff. The requestor must be affiliated with UT Health, and the program must be sponsored by either a department or organization affiliated with UT Health.


  • Classrooms are reserved on a first come/first served basis
  • To make a reservation in LIB 2.011, fill out this form. Contact 210-567-2450 to email with questions.
  • LIB 2.011 may not be reserved more than four times per month, or more than 20 hours per month, for a single course (or workshop/workshop series) or group meeting.
  • Only LIB 2.011, LIB 4.074, and LIB 5.076 may be reserved through the library website. Library Classrooms on the 2nd floor of the Briscoe Library may be reserved with University Scheduling, 210-567-2655. 
  • Due to the high demand for LIB 2.011, a requestor will be asked for a Project ID to which a "no show" penalty of $50 will be billed if a reservation is canceled less than 24 hours in advance (business days). 

Special software requirements in LIB 2.011 must be made known when the room is reserved, and be installed in advance. The Library will not purchase special software for classes. The requestor must own the software and have the license to have it installed on multiple computers. All software must be must be compatible with a VDI platform and be used in compliance with license agreements.

To request software installation, submit a ticket at the IMS Self Service Portal and select “UT Health Computer Repair and Servicing”. Special software will be uninstalled after the conclusion of the class or workshop series. Questions should be directed to the IMS Service Desk at 210-567-7777.

Library staff do not provide equipment setup or support services. A/V Classroom Support provides support for the following:

  • Equipment setup, including laptops, projectors, whiteboards, flipcharts
  • Projectionist services
  • Computer support
  • Video-teleconferencing (must be pre-arranged)
  • Software installation
