What is ORCID?
Open Research and Contributor ID, is an open, non-profit community-based effort to provide a registry of unique, persistent identifiers linked to a researcher's scholarly output and grant activities.
Why use ORCID?
- Ensure proper attribution of your work
- Disambiguate your work from that of other researchers with similar names
- Not institution-dependent, stays with you throughout your career
- Many publishers require an ORCID during manuscript submission
