NURS 7324 - Healthcare Economics & Policy

Library and other resources for Nursing policy

From the AACN (Essential V):

"Health care policy - whether it is created through governmental actions, institutional decision making, or organizational standards - creates a framework that can facilitate or impede the delivery of health care services or the ability of the provider to engage in practice to address health care needs.  Thus, engagement in the process of policy development is central to creating a health care system that meets the needs of its constituents."

Policy and economic research is different from the research you are used to doing to answer clinical questions and meet the needs of evidence-based practice. Consider taking a tutorial to bolster your skills.

Entities like Boards, Associations, etc. do not carry the force of law. However, they did suggest and direct policy implementation in practice and can organize members around key points and issues.
