Using Library Computers

Computers are available for current affiliates. The 3rd floor computers are a combination of desktop PCs and VDI terminals. Users are advised to bring a USB drive to save their files, or email to themselves. Users are advised to save their files by sending them to their own email addresses.

UT Health San Antonio computer users

Current UT Health San Antonio students, staff, and faculty log in using their UTHSCSA domain credentials. They have no time limits on computer use.

What software is available on library computers?

Briscoe Library:

  • All computers have Microsoft Office and internet access.

What username/password do I use to log in to library computers?

UT Health San Antonio faculty, staff, and students will use their UTHSCSA domain username and password. These credentials are the same ones currently used to log in to other campus systems, including the My UT Health portal, the HSCwave wireless network, and other UT Health SA student sites.

What if I don't remember my password?

You can reset your password one of two ways:

  • Visit https://pwr.uthscsa.edu if you previously set up your account for a self-service password reset.
  • Call the IMS Service Desk at 210-567-7777, option 1.  A UT Health SA username and badge ID# are required for password reset.

What do I do when I am finished using a library computer?

You are responsible for any computer use or misuse that occurs under your login.  Therefore, for your security, it is important that you log off the computer when finished.

On Windows 11 VDI terminals, you can log off by

  • clicking the "Start" button in the center of your taskbar at the bottom of the screen,
  • selecting the accounts icon/profile picture, and
  • then select Sign out.

On Windows 10 desktop computers, you can log off by

  • clicking the "start" button on the lower left corner of the screen,
  • selecting the accounts icon/profile picture, and
  • then select Sign out.

Do you have wireless internet?

Yes. UT Health San Antonio affiliates with a current domain name can connect to HSC Wave using their log-in credentials. See wireless options.
