UT Police: Michael Parks

  • Coordinates with the Office of the President and Office of Communications to recommend whether campus is in imminent danger, issues warnings and alerts through HSC Alert, University website, and 567-SNOW
  • Works with Executive Director to ensure Library is in consistent compliance with broader disaster management policies
  • Coordinates disaster response with local public safety officers
  • Follows UT Health San Antonio policies for evacuation and secures the building during and after disaster
  • Works with public safety officers to ensure the safety of the building; secures internal and external doors
  • With public safety officers determines when the building is safe for reentry

 

Department of Environmental Health and Safety: Michael A. Charlton

  • Conducts periodic tests of building alarms, fire extinguishers and Halon system
  • Works with Senior Director to ensure Library is in consistent compliance with broader disaster management policies
  • With public safety officers determines when the building is safe for reentry
  • Tests for mold formation and water supply contamination
  • Works with UT System environmental safety as necessary

  • Restores all utilities (electricity, water, gas)
  • Contracts with construction companies for building restoration

 

Insurance

UT Health San Antonio is covered by a blanket policy through the UT System.  Estimates for repairs are sent to UT System for handling.  Contact Facilities Management.

Counseling Services 

The Employee Assistance Program is run by the department of Psychiatry and is available through Human Resources as part of employee benefits.  In addition University Health System has a Psychiatric Emergency Service.
