Lexidrug

LexiDrug ScreenshotLexidrug, formerly known as Lexicomp, is a collection of content sets and clinical tools that provides users with robust clinical drug information. Lexidrug can be searched by:

  • Trissel's IV Compatibility — provides quick answers about IV compatibility for various drugs using Trissel's 2 Clinical Pharmaceutics Database
  • Interactions — Lexi-Interact is a drug and herbal interaction analysis tool that is designed to identify potential drug-drug interactions, drug-allergy interactions, and duplicate therapy interactions.
  • Drug ID — Identify tablets, capsules, aerosols, lotions, creams, and a variety of other oral and topical dosage forms based on known product characteristics, such as imprint, dosage form, shape, and color. You may also search using drug name, manufacturer/labeler, or identifier (NDC).

Additionally Lexidrug offers Patient Education and Calculators for medical calculations.

Lexidrug Mobile

lexidrug mobile screenshotUpToDate offers an app that allows you to access Lexidrug on your mobile device. You can download it from the App Store for Apple devices or the Play Store for Android devices.

Instructions for Using the App:

  1. Register an Account
    • Visit the Lexidrug Create Account site.
    • Fill in your details and click Create Account.
    • Important: Do not attempt to log in on the "Account Created" page. Instead, follow the next step.
  2. Log In
  3. Set Up Mobile Access
    • After logging in, return to the Lexidrug homepage.
    • Click the blue box labeled Mobile Access Codes.
    • Choose your device type and click Existing (already have the app).
    • Copy the Authorization Code.
  4. Add the Subscription
    • Navigate to the Manage Enterprise Account page (linked in Step 2 above).
    • Paste the Authorization Code into the Add a Subscription box.
    • Click Add Subscription.

Now you should be able to login on your mobile device with the email address and password created in Step 1. The first time you login Lexidrug will send a PIN to your email address, which you can then enter into the app.

  • You can choose whether you want the Lexidrugs app to automatically update only on WiFi or WiFi and Data
  • If you do not have an unlimited data plan, it is best to choose WiFi
  • Lexidrug will also ask if you want to Select the content sets to install or Download ALL content sets
  • Downloading ALL content sets may noticeably reduce the free space on your device and is not recommended unless your device has a lot of storage space
