Searching the Literature

Combine your concepts in a way to effectively search the databases

Use parentheses to separate your concepts:

(elderly) (falls) (acute care)(interventions)

Then combine your concepts with AND:

(elderly) AND (falls) AND (acute care) AND (interventions)

🔹 Important Reminder: Adding more concepts does not increase the number of results. Instead, it makes the search more specific, which can decrease the number of results.

Note: Always capitalize AND, OR, and NOT, as some databases may not function properly if these operators are in lowercase.
