Meet Virtually With Your Librarian

Guide to Microsoft Teams virtual meetings

Teams on PC

  • We recommend using the full Teams application, but you can also use the browser version if downloading the app is not an option.
  • Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, is available free to students. For assistance with Office 365, please contact IMS

To begin click the Teams link from your librarian then choose application or browser

Join via Microsoft Teams application

Enter your name in the text box then click Join now

If your librarian has not yet started the meeting, you may be placed into virtual waiting room.

Once the meeting has begun, and you have joined, you should the standard Teams meeting space

Share your screen

First click Share, near the top right of the Teams window.

Next choose the Screen option. If you have multiple displays, choose the screen you intend to do work on.

To stop sharing, click Stop presenting from the presenter dialog box shown below. This dialog box may disappear while you are sharing, move your mouse near the top center of the screen to make the dialog box reappear.

Join the meeting through your browser

You may encounter some warnings from Windows as you join the meeting. Be sure to allow camera & microphone and cookies.

Enter your name in the text box then click Join now

Share your screen

Next click Desktop/Window

You may be prompted to allow screen sharing, choose the window or screen you plan to share from the drop down menu. If you have multiple displays, choose the screen you intend to do work on.

To stop sharing, click Stop Sharing in the presenter dialog box, shown below
