Telephoning Remotely

The university is currently asking employees to not forward their phones, as this may overtax the number of lines available. Instead Jabber can be used as a 'softphone' to receive calls on your computer or mobile device.

Instructions

To use Jabber for telephone purposes via a computer or mobile device submit an IMS Service Request. Fill out the form in TeamDynamix and choose whether you'd like Jabber enabled on mobile, desktop, or both. If choosing mobile include your phone number in the additional information box.

You will need to download the Jabber app if using a mobile device and will be able to log in using your UT Health domain name and password once your service request has been completed.
