Health Professional Policies

Area health professionals have access to the following library services and resources:

  • In-house use only of locally-licensed databases, ebooks, and ejournals
  • Library computers (daily time limit)
  • Interlibrary Loan *(fee)

Due to licensing agreements and contracts, off-site access to electronic journals, books, and databases is available only to currently employed faculty and staff, and currently enrolled students.

*Interlibrary Loan services are available for area health professionals for personal or academic research and may not be used by health professionals on behalf of law firms, corporations, or organizations.

Area health professionals may register in person at the Briscoe Library Circulation Desk or at the Laredo Regional Campus Library. A state-issues ID, current license to practice number, and proof of working in a clinical setting are required for registration.

Print Materials

Print materials are in the process of moving to offsite storage, as a result print materials are no longer circulating. Area health professionals can still request print items through Interlibrary Loan for a fee. You must be registered to check out Interlibrary Loan materials.

Registration expires each year and must be renewed annually. Please call (210-567-2450) for your status.
