Surprise Visit to the Library


Library therapy dog June made a surprise visit to the library on Thursday 12/12. Seen here with her pet-parent librarian Dana Whitmire, June is a certified therapy dog with the PAWS organization and will be making regular visits to the UT Health campus in the coming year.

Winter Break Hours

Briscoe Library is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for all UT Health San Antonio students, faculty, and staff. Even if the doors are closed and locked, you still have access to the facilities by using your UT Health ID card to swipe into the building. During Winter Break, our public hours are as follows:

This is also a reminder that due to the planned campus-wide power outage, Briscoe Library will be completely closed beginning Friday, December 20th at 5pm through Monday, December 23rd at 6am. There will be no card swipe access into the building during this time, so please plan accordingly. Thank you for your patience and understanding!


Submit Your Photo for the Image of Research

Briscoe Library’s 3rd Annual Image of Research Photography Competition is now open! Submit your photo through March 13th, 2020 for a chance to win up to $600. Stop by Briscoe Library to view the winners from the 2018 and 2019 competitions!

Here’s An Idea…

Use your winter break to write an essay for the Danny Jones Essay Contest! Deadline is January 31st, 2020. Prize money will include $250 for 1st, $150 for second, and $100 for 3rd place.
